With a live show that walks the fine
line between sublime harmony and rampant acoustic assault, this
powerful duo guarantees a lesson in the true essence of Rock N'
Roll. The Farrell Bros. started
in Selkirk, Manitoba Canada in 1998 as a duo with
Shawn and
Gordie each playing guitar. After releasing their debut, 'The Ballad of Jackpine
Slash', they hooked up with a full-time
rhythm section for 2000's
'Go To Hell' EP.
With demands ever increasing and after a busy season of
touring, the pressures of the road eventually took their toll
on the band. |

While
the Bros are rooted in the Rockabilly, they incorporate other
musical elements. 'Some
bands only write lyrics and sing about things from the 1950s, but any of
the artists we liked in the '50s weren't trying to recreate something,
they were trying to create something new,' sez
Shawn. Without
missing a beat and with a tour already booked for the spring
of 2002, Gordie took over the stand-up bass duties.
With only 6 weeks of playing under his belt they headed back
out on the road as a 3 piece with a new drummer (Jeff
Tetrault, the post Atomic Hillbilly) and a fresh batch of
songs. Shortly afterwards they found themselves back in the
studio with the new line-up to lay down what would eventually
be released in Canada as Rumble
@ the Opry on the
Teenage Rampage Records and worldwide as This
is a Riot on Stumble Records. With their new album, accompanying video for the
track
'Breakin' out of Here', contribution to the 'This is
Rockabilly Clash' album and long running radio show on

Winnipeg, the Bros. look to be in for another busy year. MP3-
